Bad Cat Amplification

Founded by James Heidrich in the year 2000, Bad Cats has its singular purpose of building top quality guitar amplifiers. The amplifiers were made to appear classic and surpass most vintage and top class amplifiers in quality. Calling himself the main cat, the founder has put in all his experience in building power amplifiers and high-end audio speakers for installation in cars, and in homes. Drawing inspiration from playing guitar in his childhood, James entered into repairs of guitar amplifiers. Experimenting with 5E3 circuits he later moved on to Class A 15 watt amplifiers.

Joining hands with Rick Perrotta, he co-designed the popular Bad Cat DC30 guitar amplifier. Today, after many years of research and sales of various models, Bad Cat amp business evolved into excellent models. All tube Teflon coated wiring which is done by hand, and not machine wired, post-to-post, without using any circuit boards, but, neatly tucked into the casing, top quality components, protective shields, chicken head knobs, 13ply birch cabinet, etc are some of the salient features, which give the Bad Cat guitar amplifier, its classic and vintage view, and modern classic output quality.

From the start, the company Bad Cat developed itself on the slogan, Quality without Compromise. They strive to make every amplifier that carries their brand, Bad Cat, is made without compromise in features, material or performance. This helped the brand in creating new customers, and satisfied clients. Bad Cat is now a brand that is dependable, playable and reputed. Mouth publicity of the quality and reliability of the amplifiers ensured increased demand and growth of the guitar amplifiers. The company now has a policy to count its success in customer-satisfaction, product quality and not in sales volume. This also ensured that Bad Cat always indicates paramount quality, and made Bad Cat guitar amplifiers the first choice among players and artists. The quality and dependability of Bad Cat guitar amp heads and amplifiers is proven when it received 7 Editor's Pick awards, from Guitar Player Magazines.

Not just the existing range of products including the Black Cat and Wild cat, mini cat and cub cat models, Bad Cat guitar amplifiers are also ready to cater to specific customer requirements. They agree to build custom made amplifiers, with the same dedication and quality output. While the mini cat is a 5 watt single ended amplifier, designed for low volume outputs. The next is cub cat, with a 15 watt amplifier, featuring a master volume control. Next in line is the Black Cat, at 30 watt amp, featuring two separate pre-amp sections. This gives additional gain to the sound output. From this model, a Bad Cat amp is equipped with a half-power switch, which helps in adjusting the sounds to the desired levels.
